The Ruacaná Falls are a set of waterfalls and rapids formed by the Cunene River in the vicinity of the Ruacaná settlement, on the border between Angola and Namibia.

The main fall is 120 metres high and around 700 metres wide when the flow is at its peak. The river's water is used for power generation, irrigation and public supply and the falls look even more impressive during the rainy season.

The Kissama National Park (Quiçama, or Quissama), about 70 kilometres south of Luanda, is teeming with wildlife.

Created as a game reserve on 16 April 1938, Kissama National Park became a National Park in 1957 and is the hallmark of Angola's efforts to revitalise its wildlife after several years of civil war and the nefarious actions of poachers.

Through a pioneering operation - called Noah's Ark - the Kissama Foundation and the Angolan government imported elephants, zebras, ostriches and giraffes from South Africa and Botswana. With an area of around 9000 km², the terrain is characterised by dry African savannah, punctuated by embondeiros (or baobabs) and some swampy and mangrove areas, particularly in the Kwanza River area.

The area is home to various wild species such as elephants, buffalo, red and black palanquins, eland, wildebeest, hippos, manatees, sea turtles and African warthogs.

The Kalandula Falls, located in the province of Malanje, should be on the tourist map of any visit to Angola. The impressive flow of water from the Kalandula Falls, one of the largest in Africa, rises from a height of 105 metres and stretches over 410 metres in width.

The Governor's Palace, overlooking a fine sandy beach, is one of the country's examples of colonial architecture, with its many public spaces and excellent contrast with the new buildings erected in the meantime. Another important architectural example is the Church of Nossa Senhora do Pópulo, built in 1748.
