Colombo, the vibrant capital of Sri Lanka, is a city full of energy, culture and history. Whether you're strolling along the coast, exploring the markets or visiting ancient temples, you need to combine this with the best hotels in Colombo.

The combination of colonial charm and modern attractions makes the city an unmissable destination for any traveller, even if they're only spending one day in Colombo. And among the many places to explore are the Lotus Tower, for panoramic views, the famous Galle Face Green, for a peaceful stroll along the seafront or the National Museum of Colombo, to learn more about the city's history. And you can also go shopping in the bustling Pettah Market - here you'll find everything from clothes to spices.

For those who love history and culture, the Gangaramaya Temple is a must. Considered one of the oldest and most important temples in Colombo, it is full of beautiful statues, works of art and even a museum.

If you like nature, be sure to visit the Viharamahadevi Park - a perfect place to relax and enjoy the greenery in the city centre. And, of course, no trip to Colombo would be complete without seeing the Dutch Hospital, one of the oldest buildings in the city, which now houses modern restaurants and shops.

So after a day full of adventure, you'll want to find the perfect place to rest. Fortunately, you can find hotels in Colombo for every type of situation: hotels for couples, hotels with a pool, hotels for travelling with the family. From resorts by the sea to modern hotels in the city centre, the options are many. I suggest you see my itinerary for 10 days in Sri Lanka and then book one of these hotels.
