When you see the photos of Scotland, you'll understand why I recognise it as one of the most beautiful destinations in the world. The landscapes are almost indescribable, the scenery (sometimes) surreal, the whisky tasty and the wildlife amazing.
From the Scottish Highlands to the (magical) Isle of Skye, from the class of Edinburgh to the industrial (but authentic) character of Glasgow, to the historic sites where decisive battles took place.
If you go on a road trip , you'll realise that in Scotland the route between point A and point B is just as important as the places to visit. In my opinion, there are roads or paths that are much more worthwhile than going to see Loch Ness or Glasgow, for example.
Visiting Scotland in spring, autumn or the height of winter is always surprising and, even when the weather isn't in your favour, there's fabulous natural beauty to enjoy. Between lochs and mountains, castles and beaches, Scotland is a year-round destination. Here you can hike, climb mountains, dive in the North Sea and visit almost deserted islands.
Scotland can sometimes be overshadowed by other destinations in the British Isles, such as London, but there are many reasons to make the Scottish territory a priority when planning a visit to the UK.
There is so much to see in Scotland that I would never hesitate to say that this country needs to be visited not once or twice, but three or four times, because you will find something different every time. Whether it's visiting places in Scotland that have been the setting for popular films such as Braveheart, Harry Potter or James Bond, or discovering the Loch Ness Monster.
